Beside the Dark River
Take me by the hand,
and lead me to your pain.
Let my heart taste of it,
share the weight of it.
I’ll sit with you,
beside the dark river.
Be the warmth when you shiver.
My strong arms, encircling you.
Whatever you want to do
is okay. Weep or rage.
Beat your fists against my rib-cage.
Protest the injustice
of life’s hard punches.
We’ll grieve the stolen years.
Exorcise your hidden fears,
cleansing the wound
with sacred tears.
In the revealing,
unlocked doors of healing.
You’re not alone.
I am here,
and I’m not letting go.

Think of a time when YOU said to someone, “Take me by the hand and lead me to your pain…. You’re not alone. I am here and not letting go.”
EVERY SECOND GOD REMEMBERS YOU. EVERY MINUTE GOD BLESSES YOU. EVERY HOUR GOD CARES FOR YOU BECAUSE EVERY DAY I PRAY TO GOD TO TAKE CARE OF YOU!
