Closed for Good Friday!

Share with your friends on Facebook

On March 10th Silicon Valley Bank, a lender to some of the biggest names in the technology world, became the largest bank to fail since the 2008 financial crisis.

On March 12th, regulators abruptly shut down Signature Bank to prevent a crisis in the broader banking system. The banks’ swift closures sent shock waves throughout our nation and around the world.

On Monday of Holy Week a man was standing in line at a bank when there was a big commotion at the counter. A woman was very distressed and shouted, “Where will I put my money? I have all my money and my mortgage here!! What will happen to my money and my mortgage?!”

It turned out that she had misunderstood a small sign on the counter. The sign read, “WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR GOOD FRIDAY.”

I guess she wasn’t familiar with the events of Holy Week, because she thought that the bank was going to be closed “for good” the coming Friday. “WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR GOOD . . . FRIDAY.”
