A man in Long Island, New York bought a barometer.

It arrived the next morning, but to his annoyance, the needle pointed below 29, where the dial read, “Hurricanes and Tornadoes.”

He shook it and banged it against the wall, but the needle wouldn’t budge. Indignant, he repacked it, and drove to the post office to mail it back.

While he was gone, his house blew away, as a tornado touched down.

That’s the way we are. If we can’t cope with the forecast, we blame the barometer.

What barometer in YOUR life have you been blaming because you can’t cope with the forecast?
