Jesus Never Needs Glasses!

Jesus always seems to be showing a concern for what is inside of us.

Jesus says: “What comes out of a person is what makes them unclean” (Matt. 15:11).

He also says, “The Kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21).

I often have the feeling that when Jesus looks at us, it is as if he sees with x-ray vision deep into our souls. He wants us to realize that it is the life deep within us that is the real world in God’s eyes.

It is so important that God sees goodness and forgiveness and compassion and love within us. The externals of our life are only symptoms of the life that is embedded within us. They indicate a healthy soul or a soul that is sick and diseased.

This is why it is so important to Jesus that we not be judgmental of our neighbor’s sins and faults. From what Jesus sees inside us, he might be telling us, “What I see in your own soul is precisely what you hate and condemn in your neighbor’s soul. You may be liable to the same judgment and condemnation before my Father that you so readily pass on others.”

What do YOU hear Jesus saying to YOU as he looks inside YOU and looks into YOUR soul today?
