Make Time Alone With God This Lent

Share with your friends on Facebook

Lent is a time that is set aside to grow spiritually. I invite you to spend a few minutes this weekend and the coming week contemplating the following Six Steps that will bring you ever closer to the Lord……

I REALIZE THAT GOD THE FATHER, SON & SPIRIT ARE HERE WITH ME NOW

I sit and I reflect for a few moments about what an honor and a privilege it is that the Father in heaven gives me — his own son, Jesus, to be with me right here and now.

I AM WILLING TO LET GO & LET GOD

I remind myself that there are things God has yet to teach me, and I ask you, Lord, for the grace to hear those things and to let them change me.

I AM MINDFUL

Look at your hands and imagine them as they were when you were a baby. Then imagine them changing as you grew older. Then imagine them growing older, becoming lifeless when you die and dissolving back into the earth. Today and this week notice your two hands working together effortlessly to accomplish many wonderful things, by never harming each other. How can this same thing happen with you and the other people in your life?

I LISTEN TO GOD SPEAKING TO ME

While he (Peter) was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

These are words taken from tomorrow’s Gospel. The full reading: Matthew 17: 1-8

Reflect upon the words that God the Father is speaking to you…..

I SPEAK TO GOD

Heavenly Father, I can be totally honest with you and your beloved son, Jesus, as I tell you my worries and my cares. I ask you to help place me fully in your care. Give me the courage to abandon my will to yours. You always know what is best for me…..

Please add your own words…..

I AM WILLING TO MOVE FORWARD WITH MY LIFE

Don’t let people pull you into their STORMS. Pull them into your PEACE.
