Make Time for God This Lent

Share with your friends on Facebook

Lent is a time that is set aside to grow spiritually. I invite you to spend a few minutes during your week contemplating the following Six Steps that will bring you ever closer to the Lord…..

I REALIZE THAT GOD THE FATHER, SON & SPIRIT ARE HERE WITH ME NOW

As I sit for a few moments, I touch and feel the beating of my heart, the ebb and flow of my breathing and the movement of my mind. These are all signs of the Father’s ongoing creation within me and the Spirit’s presence within me.   A God Provide

I AM WILLING TO LET GO AND TO LET GOD

One of the happiest moments in my life is when I find the courage to let go of what I cannot change and let you my God take care of it.

I AM MINDFUL

This week, when you are eating or drinking, don’t do anything else. Take the time to enjoy what you are taking in. Open all of your senses. Look at the colors and the shapes of what you are eating. Attend to the smells and the flavors in your mouth. Don’t multitask when you eat. Your self-worth is not based on how much you can do in a day. Fully appreciate how God is nourishing you! Savor each bite!

I LISTEN TO JESUS SPEAKING TO ME

Jesus begins his public life by going into the desert to fast and to pray. But the devil tempts him three times. Jesus speaks to you…..

“One does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.”

These are Jesus’ words from yesterday’s Gospel. The full reading: Matthew 4:1-11.

What is Jesus saying to you here?

I SPEAK TO GOD

Lord, I think I am the one feeding myself sufficiently until material food leaves me hungry for more in life. YOU are the MORE I am looking for…..

Please add your own words as you speak to the Lord…..

I AM WILLING TO MOVE FORWARD WITH MY LIFE

Leave who you WERE…..Love who you ARE…..Look forward to who you are BECOMING.
