The manager of a hi rise was informed that a man was trapped in the elevator between two floors. The manager rushed to the grill work under the stalled car and called to the passenger: “Keep cool. We’ll have you out soon. I’ve called the elevator mechanic.”
There was a brief pause. A tense voice replied: “I AM the elevator mechanic!”
I bet you feel like this at times, not only stuck, but the one who has to fix the problem.”
It’s time to pray an Advent prayer: “Lord, this person doesn’t deserve a civil answer after what they said and did to me.
But I’m going to be kind. I’m going to try my best to be loving.
Jesus, you showed me how to live. I’m going to try to live that way.”
