One day I needed a flashlight to shed some light on a drip in the cabinet beneath my sink. I found a flashlight I hadn’t used in almost two years.
I turned it on but there was no light. I shook it and then I unscrewed one end to release what were probably dead batteries. The batteries wouldn’t come out. Finally, after some effort, I shook them loose. What a mess I found! Corroded batteries with liquid acid seeping all over the mechanism – all because I hadn’t used the flashlight regularly!
Batteries are designed to be turned on, to be used, not neglected or ignored. What you and I refuse to use we will surely lose. God created each one of us to be turned on like a flashlight.
