I know an 8th grader named Herb who is a great artist. He can do a great sketch of your face in ten minutes. Herb got to know and like a 5th grader named Charlie. Charlie was going through a rough time. His folks were fighting a lot. Charlie kept getting the flu and colds. He wasn’t doing well in school. Charlie’s eyes were sad, he wore a frown and had a runny nose.
One day, Herb took out his pencils and drew a portrait of Charlie. When Herb gave Charlie the portrait he sketched, Charlie asked, “Who is that?” It had a slight resemblance to himself.
“That’s you!” said Herb. There was a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his lips. The frown and the runny nose were gone.
“Is that me?” Charlie asked. “I don’t look like that.”
Herb replied, “But that is the person I see in you!”
How do you see yourself? How do others see you? How does God see you?
