One of my favorite Peanuts cartoons shows Peppermint Patty talking to Charlie Brown. She says, “Guess what, Chuck. The first day of school and I got sent to the principal’s office. It was your fault, Chuck.”
Charlie Brown replies, “My fault? How could it be my fault? Why do you say everything is my fault?”
Peppermint Patty replies, “You’re my friend, aren’t you, Chuck? You should have been a better influence on me.”
A small courthouse in Ohio stands in a unique location. Raindrops that fall on the north side of the building go into Lake Ontario and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, while those falling on the south side go into the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico.
At precisely the point of the peak of the roof, just a gentle puff of wind can determine the destiny of many raindrops. It will make a difference of more than 2,000 miles as to their final destination.
The spiritual application is clear. With the smallest deed or the choice of words you and I will set in motion influences that will change the course of other people’s lives. What you and I say and do will especially affect their eternal destiny. Please remember this.
