In his Pulitzer Prize winning book, The Denial of Death, Ernest Becker says that so many of the fears that we grapple with — fear of rejection, abandonment, failure, separation, and loss — are but manifestations of the one ultimate fear, and that is the fear of death.
Perhaps he is right. How do we overcome that ultimate fear? Faith. It is the only antidote that will exorcise the demons of fear that can haunt us. A God Notice
We must remember that regardless of what happens, God will be with us. As the Psalmist wrote: “When I am afraid I put my trust in you” (Psalm 56:3). Where else are you going to go?
If the Dow Jones Average drops 2,500 points tomorrow, God is still going to be the same. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. This is a good Lenten Reflection for us.
Your faith is like Wi-Fi. It’s invisible, but it has the power to connect you to God and to whatever you need today.
