“I PROMISE!”

Share with your friends on Facebook

There was a fairly rich young man who was taken to the hospital, critically ill with the COVID-19 virus. His condition worsened, and he was confined there for a couple of months. His doctor even told him that he wasn’t sure if he’d recover, but that they would continue to do all they could.

The man was obviously scared to death, and said to the doctor, “Please, doctor, do everything you can, I don’t want to die, I have so much to do yet in life. If you can help me get better and conquer this virus, I’ll even donate $100,000 to your fund for the new hospital.” The young man happily began to improve and recovered, and a few weeks later was released and went home.

Several months later, while he was in town, he saw the doctor on the street, and the doctor asked him how he felt. The young man replied, “Doc, I haven’t felt better at any time in my life.” The doctor said, “That’s great, because I wanted to ask you about the money you said you wanted to donate to the new hospital fund. You remember you said if you got well, you’d like to donate $100,000, and we could really use the money.” The young man said, “Doc, if I said that, I must have really been sick!”

PEOPLE WITH GOOD INTENTIONS MAKE PROMISES,
BUT PEOPLE WITH GOOD CHARACTER KEEP THEM.

(Are you a good intention person, or a good character person?)

PROMISE IS A BIG WORD.
IT EITHER MAKES SOMETHING, OR IT BREAKS EVERYTHING.
(This is what happens when two people get married.)

LOSERS MAKE PROMISES THEY OFTEN BREAK.
WINNERS MAKE COMMITMENTS THEY ALWAYS KEEP.

(How did this play out in Washington, DC this past year?)

WHEN YOU ARE DOWN TO NOTHING, GOD IS UP TO SOMETHING. IT IS UP TO YOU TO FIND OUT WHAT GOD IS UP TO!
