There was a man who was a Dog Whisperer, a Greyhound Whisperer, to be exact.
As you know, greyhounds line up on a racetrack with all the other greyhounds. A gun goes off. The greyhounds run off and around the oval until they reach the finish line. They all run chasing a mechanical rabbit.
One day a famous greyhound retired. He finally called it quits. The Dog Whisperer was invited to his retirement party. Talking to him afterward, the Dog Whisperer said: “Do you miss the glitter and the excitement of the racetrack?”
“No,” he replied.
“Well, what was the matter? Did you get too old to race?”
“No, I still had some races left in me.”
“Well, what then? Was it the money,” the Dog Whisperer asked.
“I won over a million dollars for my owner.”
“So, what was it? Were you treated badly?”
“Oh no,” the dog said. “They treated me royally when I was racing.”
“Did you get injured?”
“No.”
“Then why?” the Dog Whisperer pressed.
“I quit,” he said.
“You quit?”
“Yes. I just quit.”
“Well, why did you quit?”
“I quit the day I discovered that what I was chasing was not really a rabbit. “Then he looked at the Dog Whisperer very seriously and said: “All that running and running and running…… and what I was chasing, IT WASN’T EVEN REAL!”
What have YOU been running and running and chasing after THAT ISN’T EVEN REAL?
WHEN YOU RUN ALONE, IT’S CALLED A RACE. WHEN GOD RUNS WITH YOU, IT’S CALLED GRACE!
