A Friend Is a Friend

Share with your friends on Facebook

Jesus said:  “ No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”  John 15:15

A British publication once offered a prize for the best definition of a friend. Among the thousands of answers received were the following:

“One who multiplies joys, divides grief, and whose honesty is inviolable.”

“One who understands our silence.”

“A volume of sympathy bound in cloth.”

“A watch that beats true for all time and never runs down.”

The winning definition read: “A friend is the one who comes in when the whole world has gone out.”

What is YOUR definition of a friend? How has your understanding and your definition of a friend changed in this past year with the pandemic? With my open-heart surgery of 2019 and my life in a wheelchair this year after a broken leg, my understanding of friend has certainly changed.

JESUS IS MY ANCHOR AND MY BEST FRIEND!
